Kandis

Term for the taste of a wine in the context of a wine address, This taste impression can be a sign of high maturity. Candy is understood to be sugar candy or the taste of candied fruit. Kandis are crystals of sugar that crystallize from concentrated sugar solutions. Yellow rock candy is with caramel colored, brown candy is made from caramelized sugar solution. That is why the similar terms Kandis and caramel also often confused. In both cases it is true sugar, but differently contained flavors. The typical "burnt" tasting caramel tone is rather softer, creamier and "sweeter" in the impression.
