Kangun

The white grape variety is a new breed between Sukholimansky Bely x Rkatsiteli, The crossing took place in 1979 by the breeder PK Aivazyan in Armenia, Synonyms are 2-17-22, Cangoune, Kangoon and Kangoun. It is grown in the province of Ararat and used primarily for the production of fortified sweet wines and brandy. In 2010, a total of 850 hectares of vineyards were reported here.
