One of the Alsace (Haut-Rhin) sites classified as Grand Cru within the Alsace Grand Cru appellation. It covers only 3.2 hectares of vines at an altitude of 230 to 255 metres above sea level, making it the smallest site. The vineyards on clayey marl in the municipality of Bergheim are planted with Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer and Riesling. Well-known producers are Gustave Lorentz and Domaine Sylvie Spielmann.
