Kavaklidere

The winery was founded in 1929 by Mehmet Cenap And and is named after the district of the same name in Ankara (poplar valley). In the course of time the company developed into the largest wine producer in Turkey. The vineyards cover 550 hectares of vineyards, divided between Ankara, Denizli, Elazig, Cappadocia, Kirsehir and Pendore. Autochthonous Turkish, but also international varieties are processed. These are the white wine varieties Bornova Misketi (Muscat Blanc), Chardonnay, Emir, Narince, Sémillon, Sultaniye (Sultana) and Viognier, and the red wine varieties Alicante Henri Bouschet, Boğazkere, Cabernet Sauvignon, Çalkarasi, Carignan Noir (Mazuelo), Gamay, Kalecik Karasi, Malbec, Merlot, Öküzgözü, Pinot Noir, Sangiovese, Syrah and Tempranillo The wines are produced in the three wineries Ankara-Akyurt, Cappadocia-Gülsehir and Aegean-Kemaliye-Pendore. The large product range includes more than 40 different wines. Well-known classic brand wines are Cankaya (white wine), Lal (rosé) and Yakut (red wine). Other wine lines are Ancyra, Angora, Egeo, Prestige, Sade, Tigris and Vin-Art. Almost 20 million litres of wine are produced annually. About 20% of this is exported to European countries, the USA and the Far East. Grape juices and sparkling wines are also produced.
