Kefessiya

The red grape variety originates from Ukraine; the name is probably derived from the city of Feodosiya (Theodosia), located on the Black Sea coast. Synonyms are Cefecia, Cefe Izum, Cefesia, Doktorsky Chernyi (Black Doctor), Kafe Uzum, Kefe Isum, Kefe Izium, Kefesia, Kefesiya, Kefessia, Keffesiou and Kefeszija. The parentage (parentage) is unknown. It is sometimes confused with the variety Ekim Kara (also means Black Doctor). It is an all-female grape variety. The late-maturing vine is susceptible to powdery and downy mildew, but resistant to drought. It is cultivated on the Crimean peninsula, where it is used in the branded wine Chorny Doktor from Solnechnaya Dolina or in products from the famous Massandra state winery. No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
