Kékmedoc

Synonym for the grape variety Menoir; see there.

The red grape variety originates from Hungary. Synonyms are Kékmedoc, Médoc Noir and Menoire. For a long time it was considered a fact that the famous Hungarian grape breeder János Mathiász (1838-1921) introduced it to Hungary from France. An apparent confirmation was that Pierre Galet (1921-2019) equated it with the French variety Mornen Noir. According to DNADNA...
