Synonym for the grape variety ; see there.

The red grape variety originates from Hungary. Synonyms are Kékmedoc, Médoc Noir and Menoire. For a long time it was considered a fact that the famous Hungarian grape breeder János Mathiász (1838-1921) introduced it to Hungary from France.
