In the Central African state on the east coast Africa is operated since the early 1980s, viticulture. The vineyards are located on Lake Naivasha at 2,000 meters above sea level on the volcanic soil of Mount Longonot (northeast and near Nairobi). It will be the white wine varieties Chardonnay. Chenin Blanc. Colombard and Sauvignon Blanc and the red wines Carnelian and Ruby Cabernet cultivated. Grape harvest is possible every eight months, resulting in three harvests in two years. The most important producer is Lake Naivasha Vineyards, founded by pioneers John and Guy d'Olier. There are not any Wine production volumes known.
