The winery is located in the municipality of Bernkastel-Wehlen in the German wine-growing region of Mosel. The Kerpen family has been growing grapes for 250 years and is now in its eighth generation. Since 1988 it has been run by Celia and Martin Kerpen. The vineyards cover seven hectares of vines in the single vineyards Bratenhöfchen (Bernkastel), Domprobst and Himmelreich (Graach), as well as Sonnenuhr (Wehlen). They are planted exclusively with Riesling. Natural viticulture is consistently practised. The wines are matured in oak barrels. In suitable years, ice wine is also produced. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines and spirits (apple, pear, marc) are also produced.
