The red grape variety originates from the USA. Synonyms are Eatons Seedling and Wallis Giant. It is a mutation of Concord, accordingly it contains genes from Vitis labrusca and Vitis vinifera. It was selected in 1868 by the breeder Calvin Eaton. No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
