Klausberg

Single location in the municipality of Meissen in the German wine-growing region Saxony, With 3.5 hectares of vineyards, it is the smallest single location in Saxony. It was already mentioned in 1685 on a map as "Bernsteinscher Berg" and "Bernsteinsche Presse". Around 1900 a wine bar was advertised as "Klause - Steinberg". The vineyards, oriented from south to southwest, with a slope of up to 50%, have loose, stony granite weathering soils with a low proportion of fine earth. The grape varieties Goldriesling, Traminer, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir are cultivated here. The location was from the winery Walter shoe replanted from 1992 and the dry stone walls restored. Since then, she has been the sole owner of this winery.
