Knab

The estate is located in the community Endingen (range Kaiserstuhl) in the German wine-growing region to bathe, It is owned by Thomas and Regina Rinker. In 1994 the winery Knab was bought. The vineyards cover 22 hectares of vineyards in the single layer Endinger Engelsberg. They are 95% of the Burgundy varieties Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and Auxerrois and Chardonnay planted. It is consistently a natural, environmentally friendly management. Quality criteria in the vineyard are reduced yields and selective hand-picking. The white wines are fermented in the steel tank temperature-controlled and stored long to just before bottling on the yeast. The red wines ripen after fermentation in large oak barrels or barriques. As a special Kaiserstuhl experience, a vinological tour with a Unimog classic car through the vineyards to the nature reserve Amolterer Heide is offered. In this regard, there is a video under www.stern / weinschule / late burgundy to see. The winery exhibits contemporary art with numerous paintings by Regina Rinker (painter).
