The winery is located in the municipality of Endingen (Kaiserstuhl area) in the German wine-growing region of Baden. It is owned by Thomas and Regina Rinker. In 1994, the Knab vineyard was purchased. The vineyards cover 22 hectares of vines in the single vineyard Endinger Engelsberg. They are 95% planted with the Burgundy varieties Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and Auxerrois as well as Chardonnay. The vineyards are consistently cultivated in a natural, environmentally friendly way. Quality criteria in the vineyard are reduced yields and selective manual harvesting. The white wines are fermented in steel tanks at controlled temperatures and are left on their lees for a long time until shortly before bottling. The red wines mature in large wooden barrels or in barrique after mash fermentation. A special Kaiserstuhl experience is a vinological tour with a Unimog vintage car through the vineyards to the Amolterer Heide nature reserve. There is a video about this at www.stern/weinschule/spätburgunder. Contemporary art with numerous paintings by Regina Rinker (painter) is exhibited in the winery.

There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
