Kocsis Irma

The white grape variety is a new variety between Ezereves Magyarorszag Emleke x Thalloczy Lajos, which was confirmed by DNA analyses carried out in 2013. Synonyms are Irma, Kochish Irma, Korai Sárfehér and Kotchich Irma. The cross was made in 1929 in Hungary by Pál Kocsis. Incidentally, the same parents also produced the new variety Gloria Hungaria. The variety is used as a wine press and table grape. It is grown in small quantities in the Hajos-Bajai and Kunság areas. In 2016, two hectares of vineyard were designated (Kym Anderson).
