The red grape variety is an interspecific new variety between Moldova x Marschalskij. Synonyms are Black Magic, Codreanca, Kodrianka, Kodrianka Kernarm and Kodryanka. Genes from Vitis berlandieri, Vitis rupestris and Vitis vinifera are included. The hybrid was crossed by the breeder M. S. Borzikova in Moldova. It is also used as table grape. In 2016, 1,143 hectares of vineyards were reported (Kym Anderson statistics).
In the past, you needed a wealth of encyclopaedias and specialist literature to keep up to date in your vinophile professional life. Today, Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one of my best helpers and can rightly be called the "bible of wine knowledge".
