The winery is located in the municipality of Heimersheim (Wonnegau area) in the German wine growing region of Rheinhessen. After training at the Dr. Heger (Baden) and Rebholz (Palatinate) wineries, as well as internships in Burgundy, Alsace and Tuscany, Axel Koehler has been managing the winery since 2008. The vineyards cover seven hectares of vineyards in the communities of Alzey (Rotenfels), Heimersheim and Wendelsheim. They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Silvaner, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Müller-Thurgau and Scheurebe, as well as Pinot Noir. The cultivation is done according to biological aspects, in 2009 a trial with bioenergetic viticulture was started. The wines are fermented spontaneously and stored on the full yeast until bottling. They are produced in the three lines estate wines, local wines and site wines.
