Riede (site) in the municipality of Joching in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region of Wachau. It should not be confused with the Kollmütz vineyard in neighbouring Wösendorf. The southeast-facing, terraced vineyards at an altitude of 249 to 361 metres above sea level have a slope of up to 51% and cover 18 hectares. The soils consist of loose sediments with brown slate and strong loess layers. The white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner and Riesling are cultivated here. Members of the Domäne Wachau winegrowers' cooperative and the Eigl Christian, Hirtzberger Franz, Holzapfel Karl, Jamek Josef, Machherndl, Pichler Franz and PAX wineries, for example, have shares in the vineyard.

For my many years of work as an editor with a wine and culinary focus, I always like to inform myself about special questions at Wine lexicon. Spontaneous reading and following links often leads to exciting discoveries in the wide world of wine.
