The winery is located in the municipality of Bad Kreuznach-Bosenheim in the German wine-growing region of
Nahe. Its origins date back to 1832, when the first Korrell established his business in Bosenheim. In the 1960s, Johann Wilhelm Korrell began
bottling his own wine for the first time. With the takeover by Herbert Korrell at the end of the 1970s, professional self-marketing began. Since 2010, the winery has been run by Sebastian and Kathrin Korrell, the sixth generation of the family. At the beginning of 2014, they moved into a new estate house on the outskirts of Bosenheim. The vineyards cover ten hectares of vines in the single vineyard sites Paradies and Rosenberg (Bad Kreuznach).
The vineyards are planted with the white wine varieties Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Müller-Thurgau/Rivaner, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Scheurebe, Gewürztraminer and Pinot Blanc, as well as with the red wine varieties Dornfelder, Portugieser, Pinot Noir and St. Laurent. The vineyards are cultivated in an environmentally friendly way "with respect and consideration for nature". This includes, among other things, the control of the
grape berry moth with
pheromone traps.
The white wines are mostly matured in temperature-controlled steel tanks, but also after
spontaneous fermentation in wooden barrels. The red wines are generally matured in barriques for up to 18 months. The premium wines include the white wine "Cuvée blanc" (from Burgundy varieties) and the red wine "Saint Laurent", both of which are also bottled in
magnum. Bottle-fermented vintner' s sparkling wines and secco (sparkling wines), grape juice,
wine jelly and noble brandies (yeast, wine) are also produced. The winery is a member of the Generation Riesling association.
