The white grape variety comes from Greece, Synonyms are corghianitis, gikoyzanitis, kojanitis, korgianitis, koryanitis and kouzanitis. The parentage is unknown. It is found in the Ionian Islands Kefallonia and Corfu grown. There it is mainly used as table grape but also used for white wines. In 2010, however, no stocks were shown (Statistics Kym Anderson ).
