The grape variety is an interspecific new breeding between Sremski Karlovci 77 4-5 (Kunbarát x Traminer) x Bianca. It contains genes from Vitis amurensis, Vitis berlandieri, Vitis rupestris and Vitis vinifera. The hybrid was crossed in Hungary by the breeder Pál Kozma. The vine is resistant to fungal diseases and frost and because of these good characteristics it is very popular for breeding new PIWI grape varieties. For this very reason, it was a crossing partner for the new varieties Cabernet Eidos, Fleurtai, Julius, Merlot Kanthus, Merlot Khorus, Sauvignon Kretos and Soreli. No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
