Kreichgauer

The estate is located in the community Dorn-Dürkheim (area Nierstein) in the German wine-growing region Rheinhessen, Family-owned since several generations, since 1991 Axel and Anke Kreichgauer have run the business. The vineyards cover 12.5 hectares of vineyards in the individual layers Römerberg (Alsheim), Hasensprung and Römerberg (Dorn-Dürkheim), Gau-Odernheim (Fuchsloch), Herrengarten (Oppenheim), and Fraugarten (Wintersheim). They are planted with the white varieties Riesling, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer, Bacchus and Ortega, and with the red varieties Pinot Noir, Cabernet Dorio and Cabernet Dorsa.

The vineyards are consistently following the rules of the Organic (organic) viticulture managed since the year 2007 certified by ECOVIN. The wines are mainly dry. The white wines are stored on the long lees, Selected white wines and red wines mature in barrique. The top wines are declared with the designation "S". The premium wines include the white wine "Riesling Alte Reben Dorn-Dürkheimer Hasensprung" and the red wine blend "Eigensinn". Every year around 85,000 bottles of wine are produced.
