Kronsberg

single vineyard in the municipality of Iphofen (Steigerwald area) in the German growing region of Franconia. The name is derived from a mixed oak forest, "the mountain with the crown", at whose feet the site is located. At the foot of the slope, it runs around the Julius-Echter-Berg and connects to it as a steep slope to the east. The south-east to south-west facing vineyards at an altitude of 250 to 380 metres above sea level with a slope of 10 to 60% cover a total of 155 hectares of vineyards. The soils, which are relatively inhomogeneous due to their size, consist mainly of skeleton-rich gypsum keuper and clay loam with a high lime content. The "Kammer" vineyard, which is considered privileged, lies in a hollow. The white wine varieties Riesling, Silvaner, Sauvignon Blanc and Scheurebe as well as the red wine variety Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir) are cultivated here. The wineries Brennfleck, Emmerich Werner, Hemberger Roland, Ilmbacher Hof, Ruck Johann, Stahl Albrecht, Weigand, Wirsching Hans and Zehntkeller Iphofen.
