The white grape variety comes from Montenegro, Synonyms are Beli Krstač, Bijeli Krstač, Krata Bijela, Krstač Bijela, Loza Bijela and Vinogradarska Bijela. Nothing is known about the parentage or possible relationship to the red Krstač Crna variety. The name refers to the cross-like shape of the grapes (Krstač = cross). The late-ripening vine is susceptible to both mildews and especially for Botrytis, It produces low-alcohol, fresh white wines with aromas of elderflower, green apples and pears. The variety is mainly grown in the Podgorica area. However, no holdings were recorded in 2010 (Kym Anderson ).
