The white grape comes from Montenegro, Synonyms are Beli Krstač, Bijeli Krstač, Krata Bijela, Krstač Bijela, Loza Bijela and Vinogradarska Bijela. With regard to the parentage or possible relationship to the red variety Krstač Crna nothing is known. The name refers to the cruciform shape of the grapes (Krstač = cross). The late-ripening vine is prone to both mildews and especially for Botrytis, It produces alcohol-rich, fresh white wines with aromas of elderflowers, green apples and pears. The variety is grown mainly in the area Podgorica. In 2010, however, no stock was recorded (Kym Anderson ).
