Kuentz-Bas

The winery is located in the municipality of Husseren-les-Châteaux, next to Colmar in the French wine region of Alsace. It was founded in 1795 by Joseph Kuentz. It was renamed to its present name in 1919. The vineyards cover 17 hectares of vines in various locations. The Grand Cru varieties Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Muscat d'Alsace (Muscat Blanc) and Pinot Gris, as well as Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir are cultivated. The wines under the AC Alsace Grand Cru come from the Eichberg and Pfersigberg sites in the municipality of Eguisheim. The Vendanges Tardives (late harvest) are marketed under "Cuvée Caroline", the Sélection Grains Nobles (Trockenbeerenauslese from noble rotten berries) under "Cuvée Jeremy".
