The white grape variety comes from Russia. Synonyms are Belyi Kizilovyi, Kizilovyi Belyi, Koukanovsky, Pochatochnyi, Pociatocnii and Potchatotchnyi. The parentage (parenthood) is unknown. The vine is cultivated in the western region of Rostov on the Don River. In 2016, however, no stocks were reported (statistics Kym Anderson).
The glossary is a monumental achievement and one of the most important contributions to wine knowledge. Of all the encyclopaedias I use on the subject of wine, it is by far the most important. That was the case ten years ago and it hasn't changed since.
