The winery (in English "The Oak") is located in the municipality of Impruneta, 12 kilometres from Florence (province of Florence) in the Italian region of Tuscany. The villa with the cellar dates back to the 15th century. The property was bought by Gino Marchi in 1960. At that time all the vineyards were renewed and the bottling of the wines began. The present owner is Massimo Marchi, the manager is Marco Ferretti, the oenologist is Valentino Ciarlo. The vineyards cover eight hectares. They are planted with the red wine varieties Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Colorino and Merlot. The selective harvest is carried out in two or three passes with the aim of ripe and healthy grapes for the selection of different wine qualities.

A gentle, gentle pressing takes place so as not to damage the berry skins. The red wines undergo maceration at a controlled temperature with a special form of pumping over, the so-called délestage. Among the premium wines are the DOCG wines Chianti Colli Fiorentini "La Torretta"; and the IGT wines "La Querce" (90% Sangiovese and Colorino,20 months in new Allier barrique, min. 6 months in bottle) and "M" (100% Merlot, 30 months in new Allier barrique, min. 12 months in bottle). About 25.000 bottles of wine are produced annually. Of these, 80% are exported mainly to Germany, Switzerland, Japan, USA and Canada.
