Lackner-Tinnacher

The traditional winery is located in the municipality Gamlitz-Steinbach in the wine region südsteiermark (Austria) It was already described in 1787 on the occasion of a land survey in the so-called Josephinian land registry. Today the company is managed by Fritz, Wilma and their daughter Katharina Tinnacher. In 2001 a newly built wine cellar was put into operation and in 2002 a centuries-old cellar vault was renovated as a sales room. Certified by the Republic of Austria, this was done in an “exemplary building design”. The vineyards cover 21 hectares of steep slopes in the Eckberg, Flamberg and Steinbach locations. 90% of them are planted with the white varieties Weißburgunder, Muskateller, Welschriesling, Grauburgunder, Morillon, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc and Roter Traminer, the rest with the red varieties St. Laurent and Zweigelt. Depending on the type of wine, the wines are aged in steel tanks or in large wooden barrels. In favor of the vintage and location characteristics, barrique use is principally dispensed with. They are produced in the Welschriesling STK, Steirische Klassik STK, Erste STK Lage and Grosse STK Lage lines. Fine brandies (wine, yeast, fruit) are also produced.
