Riede (site) in the municipality of Langenlois in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region of Kamptal. The vineyard, which is oriented as a wind-protected hollow, has a special microclimate. The soil types vary greatly, some of which are sandy, clayey loam and slate (Gföhler Gneis) that reaches just to the surface. The cohesive soil has a very good water storage capacity and ensures an optimal water supply during the vegetation cycle. The white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling and Chardonnay are mainly cultivated here. The Bründlmayer Willi, Jurtschitsch and Nastl Günter wineries, for example, have shares in the vineyard.
For me, Lexicon from wein.plus is the most comprehensive and best source of information about wine currently available.
