Lafões

The small DOC area is located in the north of the Portuguese region of Beiras. It includes the municipal areas of Lafoes Oliveira de Frades, São Pedro Sul and Vouzela. The terraced vineyards on granite soils are located in the depression of the river Vouga. The red wines are made from Amaral and Jaen du Dão(Mencía), the white wines from Arinto, Cercial(Cerceal Branco), Dona Branca, Esgana Cão(Sercial) and Rabo de Ovelha.
