The family winery is located in the municipality of Margreid on the Wine Road (Magrè sulla Strada del Vino) in the Italian wine-growing area of South Tyrol (Trentino-Alto Adige region). The origins of the traditional business date back to 1823, when Johann Lageder founded a wine trade in Bolzano. The great-grandson of the founder, Alois Lageder III, bought the Löwengang estate in Margreid in 1934. Today, the estate is managed by the fifth and sixth generations of the family. Attached to the estate is the "Vinera PARADEIS", where you can taste and buy wines and also dine. The kitchen of the certified organic restaurant offers dishes made from organic, regional and seasonal products. There is a close collaboration with about 80 winegrowing partners from all over South Tyrol. Local farms supply vegetables and fruit for the restaurant. In the autumn and winter months, cows of a cheese partner graze in the vineyards, where, due to the mild climate, they find enough food even in the cold season. In the environmentally conscious operation, fossil fuels are not used and instead renewable energies such as solar energy, water and geothermal energy are used.

The family's own vineyards cover 55 hectares, those of the winegrowing partners about 100 hectares. They are planted with the white wine varietiesPinot Blanc, PinotGris, Chardonnay, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewürztraminer, Müller-Thurgau, Manzoni Bianco and Moscato Giallo(Gold Muscatel), and with the red wine varieties Lagrein, Vernatsch(Schiava Grossa), Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot,Pinot Noir and Tannat. A speciality are the French varieties Petit Manseng, Roussanne, Marsanne, Chenin Blanc and Viognier, grown in a blending system, from which the white wine cuvée "CASÒN Bianco" is pressed. Experiments are being conducted with other varieties such as Assyrtiko.

The winery practices biodynamic viticulture according to the certified rules of the organic association DEMETER. This includes the renunciation of chemical synthetic pesticides, pesticides and mineral fertilizers. Instead, the use of preparations and homeopathic teas as remedies is used and biodiversity (species diversity) is promoted by sowing, shrubs and plants, animals and fertilizing with compost.

In the newly built cellar with state-of-the-art technology and a 17 meter deep, round "wine press tower", the grapes are pressed as close to nature as possible and as gently as possible by using gravity. The musts are partly fermented spontaneously. Depending on the type of wine, they are aged in steel tanks, large wooden barrels or in barriques. They are produced in the categories classical grape varieties, compositions, masterpieces (best sites) and comets. The "KOMETEN" in limited quantities are the result of experiments; for example, the white wine TIK XV from the Greek Assyrtiko was presented for the first time in 2017. Each bottle is individual, because on the black label a white comet tail is painted on with the finger. Among the premium wines of the house are LÖWENGANG Chardonnay and COR RÖMIGBERG Cabernet Sauvignon.
