Lamb (Riede Austria)

Riede or location in the municipality of Kammern in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region Kamptal, The name has nothing to do with the animal, but is derived from the abundant clay found here (loam or lame). It is located on the southeast flank of the famous Riede Zöbinger Heiligenstein where this mountain turns into a gentle hill. The south-facing vineyards on a slight slope consist of fertile, deep loess and loam soil, which is interspersed with silt, volcanic rock and petrified remains of fern and bony fish. The variety Grüner Veltliner and Riesling, which is predestined for this soil, is cultivated here. The wineries, for example, have shares in the vineyard Brandl Günther. Bründlmayer Willi. Eichinger Birgit. Hirsch Johannes. Jurtschitsch. Retzl Erwin and Gobelsburg Castle,
