Lamb (Riede Austria)

Riede or location in the municipality Kammern in the Lower Austrian wine region Kamptal, The name has nothing to do with the animal, but derives from the here abundant loam (orally "Loam" or "Lahm") from. It is located on the southeast flank of the famous Zöbinger Riede Heiligenstein where this mountain turns into a gentle hill. The south-facing vineyards on a gentle slope consist of fertile, deep loess and clay soil, which is interspersed with silt, volcanic rock and fossil remains of fern and bony fish.
