DOC area for sparkling red wines and rosés (spumante and frizzante) in the Italian region of Emilia-Romagna. The zone includes the complete municipalities of Bastiglia, Bomporto, Nonantola, Ravarino and San Prospero, as well as parts of the municipalities of Galliano, Camposanto, Carpi, Castelfranco Emilia, Modena, San Cesario sul Panaro and Soliera in the province of Modena. All wines are blended from Lambrusco di Sorbara (max. 60%), Lambrusco Salamino (max. 40%), and any other Lambrusco varieties (max. 15%). There are the wine types Rosso Spumante, Rosato Spumante, Rosso Frizzante and Rosato Frizzante, which are vinified in secco or asciutto, abboccato or semisecco and amabile or dolce.
