Lambrusco Mantovano

DOC area for red and rosé wines ( Spumante and Frizzante ) in the Italian region Lombardy, The zone includes parts of the municipalities of Gazzuolo, Poggio Rusco and Sermide in the province of Mantua. It consists of the two subzones Viadanese-Sabbionetano (between the rivers Oglio and Po) and Oltrepò Mantovano. At a alcohol content of at least 11% vol (otherwise 10.5%), the subzone may label appear.

The wine types Rosso and Rosato are used in any way by Grappello Ruperti ( Lambrusco Viadanese ), Grappello Maestri ( Lambrusco Maestri ), Grappello Marani ( Lambrusco Marani ) and Lambrusco Salamino (to. 85%), as well as from Lambrusco di Sorbara, Grappello Grasparossa ( Lambrusco grass parossa ) Ancellotta and Fortana (max. 15%) pressed. The wines are aged in secco and amabile.
