Lambrusco Mantovano

DOC area for reds and rosé wines ( Spumante and Frizzante ) in the Italian region Lombardy, The zone includes parts of the municipalities of Gazzuolo, Poggio Rusco and Sermide in the province of Mantua. It consists of the two sub-zones Viadanese-Sabbionetano (between the rivers Oglio and Po) and Oltrepò Mantovano. At a alcohol content of at least 11% vol (otherwise 10.5%) the subzone may label appear.

The wine types Rosso and Rosato are used in any use by Grappello Ruperti ( Lambrusco Viadanese ), Grappello Maestri ( Lambrusco Maestri ), Grappello Marani ( Lambrusco Marani ) and Lambrusco Salamino (to 85%), as well as from Lambrusco di Sorbara, Grappello Grasparossa ( Lambrusco Grasparossa ) Ancellotta and Fortana (max 15%) pressed. The wines are aged in secco and amabile.
