The red grape variety originates from northern Italy, namely from Trentino. Synonyms are Foglia Frastagliata, Foja Tonda, Frastagliata, Lambrusco Nostrano, Lambrusco a Foglia Frastagliata (Lambrusco di Foglia Frastagliata), Nostram, Nostram de Avi, Sbeca and Zicolada.
