The Lao People's Democratic Republic (Lao ປະເທດລາວ) in Southeast Asia with the capital Vientiane covers 236,800 km². The state borders China, Vietnam and Myanmar to the north, Cambodia to the south and Thailand to the west. The uniformly tropical and humid climate is divided into two seasons by the monsoon. From November to April, continental north-easterly winds bring about the somewhat cooler dry season. From May to October, the summer or south-west monsoon prevails with heavy rainfall and high humidity. The favoured alcoholic drink is rice wine. A few producers have also been growing wine since the 1990s. The production of table grapes has a long tradition here.
For me, Lexicon from wein.plus is the most comprehensive and best source of information about wine currently available.
