Lapa Kara

The red grape variety originates from Ukraine; the name means "black hand". The ancestry (parentage) is unknown. The late-ripening vine produces aromatic, full-bodied red wines. It is cultivated in small quantities in the Sudak region in the Solnechnaya Dolina (Sun Valley) area of Crimea. There, it is a component of the branded wine Chorny Doctor of the Solnechnaya Dolina winery. No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson).
