Larcherhof - Spögler family

The winery is located near Rentsch in the municipality of Bozen in the Italian wine sector South-Tirol (Region Trentino-Alto Adige ). It has been family-owned since 1893. The wines have been bottled since 2008. From the 2014 vintage, vinification takes place in the newly built basement. The company is run by Hildegard Egger Spögler, son Hans Jochen and Eduard Spögler. The vineyards cover five hectares of vines, which are planted with the various varieties of the Vernatsch variety (gray, small, medium, large Vernatsch), Merlot and Lagrein, as well as Ruländer. Some of the vines are over 70 years old (Grauvernatsch) and even 80 years old (Lagrein) in Doppelpergel education, as well as younger vines in modern espaliers.

The vineyards are cultivated conventionally, but in an environmentally friendly, natural way. There will be none herbicides or fungicides used. The product range includes several South Tyrol DOC wines such as Pinot Grigio, Lagrein Kretzer, Grauvernatsch, St. Magdalener "classico", Lagrein and Merlot. The premium wines include Lagrein Riserva "Rivelaun" and Merlot-Lagrein "Justinus", both of which are aged in oak tonneaux for 12 months. Around 25,000 bottles of wine are produced annually. However, this can be increased because some of the grapes are still delivered to a winery. The winery is a member of Free wine growers in South Tyrol and South Tyrolean Wine Route.
