Lasina

The red grape variety originates from Croatia. Synonyms are Bej Karassa, Dlarinka, Kits, Krapljenica, Kuč, Kuč Lasina, Kuč Mali, Kutlarica, Lasin, Lasina Crna, Lasina Noir, Lassina, Lassyna, Pazan, Pazanin, Rija, Ruza, Sljiva, Vlasina, Vlaski Crljenak, Zlaorina, Zlarina, Zlarinka and Zlarinstina. The parentage is unknown. According to DNA analyses carried out in 2012, it was a parent of the Croatian variety Ruzevina (Debit), which was presumably created by natural crossing. The late-maturing vine is moderately resistant to fungal diseases. The variety is cultivated in the north of Dalmatia between Split and Zadar, where it is mainly used as a blending partner. It is also suitable as table grape. The area under cultivation in 2010 was 14 hectares; however, no stock was reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
