The winery is located near the municipality of Moncioni in the Italian region of Tuscany. It originated in 1700 as the dowry of a Maria Tamanti from the famous Biondi-Santi family. Today the farm is run by Simonetta Valiani and her husband Nicolò Magnelli. The total estate covers 18 hectares, on which olive groves and vineyards are cultivated. The vineyard of about seven hectares is mainly planted with the Sangiovese clone Brunello. The main quality criterion in the vineyard is low yields, which are achieved by thinning out and selective manual harvesting. After long maceration in steel vats, the wines are aged for three to five years in large oak barrels with a volume of 20 to 30 hl of Slavonian oak. The DOC wines Brunello di Montalcino and Rosso di Montalcino are produced. Grappa is also produced.
