Le Clementin du Pape-Clément

The winery is located in the commune of Pessac in the Pessac-Léognan area of Graves. It is one of the oldest wine estates in Bordeaux, having been founded in 1300 by the then Archbishop of Bordeaux Bertrand de Goth (1264-1314). As Pope Clement V, he chose the city of Avignon as his residence in 1309, thus establishing the French exile of the popes, which lasted until 1377.
