The winery is located in the municipality of Langenlois in the wine-growing region of Kamptal (Lower Austria). Viticulture has been practised in the family for centuries. The great-grandfather of the current owner Thomas Leithner was the well-known vine breeder Dr. Fritz Zweigelt (1888-1964). The vineyards cover 12 hectares of vines in the Fraupoint, Schenkenbichl and Steinhaus vineyards. They are 75% planted with the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner (main variety), Riesling, Traminer, Chardonnay and Neuburger, as well as with Zweigelt, which was created by his great-grandfather. The emblem included in the logo is the locust species Mother of God (Mantis Religiosa), which is supposed to symbolise environmentally conscious organic viticulture in harmony with nature. Premium wines are Grüner Veltliner Privat, the white wine cuvée "Mantis Religiosa" (Chardonnay, Neuburger) as well as the Zweigelt Hommage, matured for 24 months in barriques. Around 50,000 bottles of wine are produced annually, part of which is exported to the USA. Fine brandies are also produced.
