Les Hauts de Pontet-Canet

The second wine (formerly Les Hauts de Pontet) of Château Pontet-Canet; see there.

The vineyard is located in the commune of Pauillac in the area of the same name in the Médoc (Haut-Médoc, Bordeaux). In 1750, Jean François de Pontet (Governor General of the Médoc) acquired the first plot of land, which was then extended by his descendants in 1757 to include neighbouring vineyards called "Canet".
