single vineyard in the municipality of Geradstetten/Hebsack (Remstal-Stuttgart area) in the German wine-growing region of Württemberg. A special feature is that the local registry office has been established in a vineyard cottage (Hüterhütte). The southwest to south-facing vineyards with 20 to 40% slopes cover 70 hectares of vines. They are optimally protected against westerly winds. At an altitude of 350 metres above sea level, there is a spring that provides a good water supply. The soils consist of Keuper, clay and coloured marl, as well as reed sandstone in higher-lying plots. The varieties cultivated here include Lemberger (Blaufränkisch) and Riesling. The Ellwanger Bernhard and Ellwanger Jürgen wineries, for example, have shares in the site.
Other individual vineyards named Lichtenberg also exist in the municipalities and wine-growing areas of Großbottwar, Hof and Lembach (Großlage Wunnenstein, Württemberg) and Grötzingen (Baden).
The glossary is a monumental achievement and one of the most important contributions to wine knowledge. Of all the encyclopaedias I use on the subject of wine, it is by far the most important. That was the case ten years ago and it hasn't changed since.
