With a total of around 1,800 hectares of vineyards, the "Domaines Listel" winery is the largest in France and also in Europe. It was founded in the 19th century by the salt company Salins du Midi, which was a pioneer in viticulture. Today it is owned by the Val-d'Orbieu group in the Languedoc. Most of the vineyards are located on the sandy beaches of the Golfe du Lion in the Gard department on the Mediterranean coast in the Rhône delta. The sand keeps the vines safe from phylloxera. The estates include Château La Gordonne (Côtes de Provence), Abbaye de Saint-Hillaire (Coteaux Varois en Provence), Château Mailjay (Côtes du Rhône) and Domaine du Bosquet-Canet, Château de Villeroy (the mother vineyard with 300 ha), Château Saint-Jean de la Pinède, Domaine de Jarras, Petite Sylve and Soult - all in the Golfe du Lion. IGP wines are produced in large quantities. A speciality is the light pink Gris de gr is (under the name "Listel Gris"). Sparkling wines and blanc de blancs sur lie (see under lees ageing) are also produced.
