Little Julius

The estate is located in the municipality of Pernersdorf in the Weinviertel wine-growing region in Lower Austria. In the traditional family business, all heads of families have been called Julius since 1788. Today it is run by Erika and Julius Klein. The vineyards cover 14 hectares of vineyards in, for example, the Johannisberg, Rustenberg, Steinbergen and Wiege vineyards. They are 70% planted with the white varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewürztraminer and Muskateller, and 30% with the red varieties Zweigelt, St. Laurent, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The wines mature in the vaulted cellar, which is over 300 years old. Premium wines include, for example Weinviertel DAC Rustenberg and Weinviertel DAC Wiege (both Grüner Veltliner), the Grüner Veltliner named "Tethys" after the Urmeer, as well as Gewürztraminer and the red wine cuvée "Johannisberg". Frizzante is also produced. The winery is a member of the winegrowers' associations Retzer Land wineries and Premium wineries Weinviertel,
