Lival

The red grape variety is a new cross between Alphonse Lavallée x Lignan Blanc (Luglienga Bianca). The cross was made in 1956 in France by Paul Truel (1924-2014) on behalf of INRA in Montpellier. The variety was a crossing partner of the new variety Prima (1). The very early ripening vine is mainly used as table grape. It is cultivated in the department of Vaucluse. In 2016, 99 hectares of vineyards were designated (Kym Anderson statistics).
