The winery is located in the municipality of Magliano (province of Grosseto) in the Italian region of Tuscany. The name derives from the falconry practised here in the Middle Ages. It was acquired in 1999 by Rainer Loacker, who also owns the vineyards Loacker Corte Pavone (also Tuscany) and Loacker Schwarhof (South Tyrol). A newly built cellar was put into operation in 2002. The total estate covers 64 hectares. Of these, the vineyards cover 23 hectares of vines on red, ferruginous clay soil surrounded by olive trees, planted with the red wine varieties Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Primitivo. Since 2000, the vineyard has been cultivated according to biodynamic guidelines. The wines are produced as DOC Morellino di Scansano and IGT.
