DOC area for white wines in the Italian region of Piedmont. The zone covers only three hectares of south-facing vineyards at 400 metres above sea level in the municipality of Loazzolo in the province of Asti. The golden-yellow sweet wine is made from 100% Moscato Bianco (Muscat Blanc). It is produced partly from late harvested (Vendemmia tardiva) botrytised grapes, and partly from grapes dried on racks. The alcohol content must be at least 11% vol (potentially 15.5%), the residual sugar at least 50 g/l, the maturation period 24 months, 6 months of which in barriques.
There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
