Loersch-Eifel

The estate is located in the municipality of Leiwen (Bernkastel area) in the German wine-growing region Moselle, The family has been wine-growing for over 400 years. It is run by Ernst-Albrecht Loersch, and his son Alexander, a trained wine technician, has been responsible for the expansion of the wines since 2000. A guest house is connected. The vineyards cover four hectares of vineyards in the monastery garden (Leiwen), Altärchen and pharmacy (Trittenheim) Hofberger (Dhron) and Goldtröpfchen (Piesport). The main variety is Riesling, as well as small quantities of Pinot Noir and Rivaner. Viticulture close to nature is practiced. The quality criteria are low yields, selective harvesting and reductive, aroma-protecting expansion. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines and brandies (pomace, yeast, fruit, berries) are also produced.
