Loersch-Eifel

The estate is located in the community Leiwen (Bernkastel area) in the German wine-growing region Moselle, The family has been growing wine for more than 400 years. It is run by Ernst-Albrecht Loersch, his son Alexander is a trained viticulture technician since 2000 responsible for the expansion of the wines. A guest house is connected. The vineyards cover four hectares of vineyards in the layers Klostergarten (Leiwen), Altärchen and pharmacy (Trittenheim) Hofberger (Dhron) and Goldtröpfchen (Piesport). It is cultivated as the main variety of Riesling, as well as small amounts Pinot Noir and Rivaner. It is practiced near-natural viticulture. The quality criteria are low yields, selective harvesting and reductive, aroma-protective expansion. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines and brandies (pomace, yeast, fruit, berries) are also produced.
