The estate is located in the municipality Illmitz in Burgenland wine region Lake Neusiedl
(Austria). It is operated by Helmut Lang in the third generation of the family. The vineyards cover 15 hectares of vineyards on the edge of the National Park Neusiedlersee-Seewinkel. They are planted to 75% with the white varieties Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Riesling, Gewürztraminer, seedling 88, Grüner Veltliner and Welschriesling, as well as to 25% with the red varieties Blaufränkisch
, Zweigelt, Pinot Noir, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The operating philosophy since the beginning of the 1970s has been to produce varietal wines, especially in the sweet wine sector. The Beerenauslese, outbreaks, Trockenbeerenauslese and Eiswein make up about 60% of the production. They are expanded in steel tanks and partly also in barriques. Helmut Lang is one of the absolute sweet wine specialists with worldwide recognition. Every year around 30,000 bottles of wine are produced. Distillates are also produced.
