The estate is located in the community Wittlich (Bernkastel area) in the German wine-growing region Moselle
, The roots go back to the 16th century. Today, the business is managed by Thomas Losen. The vineyards cover 30 hectares of vineyards in the individual layers Rosengärtchen
(Wehlen), as well as Bottchen, Felsentreppchen, Klosterweg, Lay and Portnersberg (Wittlich). They are planted with the white varieties Riesling, White Burgundy and Kerner, and the red varieties Spätburgunde, Merlot, Dornfelder and Regent. The management is carried out in a natural, environmentally friendly manner. All grapes are harvested by hand and processed by Ganztraubenpressung. The white wines are fermented cold fermented in stainless steel tanks and bottled at the earliest in the spring. The red wines are partly matured in oak barrels but also stainless steel. In weather-appropriate years, an ice wine is also pressed. Bottle-fermented Riesling and Pinot Noir-Rosé wines are also produced.
