The winery "López de Heredia - Viña Tondonia" is located in the city of Haro in the center of the Spanish Rioja sub-area Rioja Alta, It was founded in 1877 by Don Raphael López de Heredia y Landeta, who had previously been in the service of a French trading house. At the turn of the century, the company was considered a technology leader thanks to the use of French cellar technology. Today it is managed in the fifth generation of the family by María José López de Heredia. The vineyards cover 170 hectares of vineyards with the classic Rioja varieties Tempranillo. Garnacha Tinta. mazuelo. Graciano, Viura ( Macabeo ) and Malvasía Riojana ( alarije ) are planted. So many grapes are bought again.
The transmitted from generation to generation winemaking is still done in a traditional way.
